Is a SkippyBAG appropriate for my needs or
do I need a Metal Skip Bin?
This really depends on the type of rubbish you are going to put in the
SkippyBAG or Skip Bin. I am a builder by trade, I developed the SkippyBAG as it
provides a significantly more efficient, more flexible and cost effective way of
removing debris in comparison to metal skip bins. Thus far I have not
encountered a situation where a Metal Skip Bin has provided a better alternative
to the SkippyBAG, however, in reality, metal skip bins may be more appropriate
in some situations.
General Waste, SkippyBAG, General waste is
typically anything involved with a “general cleanup around the house and/or
property and/or building site” that is neither liquid nor of a hazardous nature.
Use a SkippyBAG, if you have any of the
following:
Concrete, soil, sand, clay, rocks, rubble, bricks, sand, asphalt, ceramic tiles,
steel.
Use a SkippyBAG for Green Waste, if you have any of the
following:
Grass, leaves, tree trimmings, small branches and other organic materials.
I don’t know how many SkippyBAGs I need?
SkippyBAG makes it easy for you, if you think you need a 4 cubic meter bin, we
will deliver 5 bags, you use what you need and return the unused bags when we
pick up at no extra cost.
How much does it cost to hire a skip bin or SkippyBAG?
Skip Bin pricing varies significantly, while SkippyBAG charge only
34 cents per kilo with minimum $100 charge
- in addition it would be prudent to consider hiring a metal SkipRACK frame for an added
$25.
How long can I keep a SkippyBAG?
No Time limits for a SkippyBAG - Skip Bin suppliers generally
allow you to keep a skip bin for between 3 and 5 days. If you want a skip bin
for longer you often pay extra.
SkippyBAG has no time limits - take as
long as you want or need to fill the bags

How much weight can I put in a SkippyBAG?
A maximum of 1.25 tonne per bag - our basic charges are only 34
cents per kilo with minimum $100 charge.
In comparison how
much weight can I put in a metal skip bin?
For every cubic meter of bin you are allowed to add 150kg of waste.
i.e. for a 9 cubic meter skip bin you can add 1350kg of waste. Suppliers are
charged tip fees based on weight. 150kg per cubic meter is the average weight
for the industry. If your skip bin exceeds this weight suppliers may charge you
additional tipping fees.
How high can I fill the SkippyBAG?
Skips generally should not be filled any higher than the top of its
sides and should be filled in such a manner as to prevent spillage of material
from the skips either while stationary or in transit. (We do face prosecution
for unsafe or overweight loads.) Doors and longer items to a maximum of 2m can
be left sticking out of the top of the bag.
